BARÇA O BARSA directed by Mario Aranguren
The expression Barça or Barsa reflects the African dream, the dream all immigrants have. One the one hand, Barça refers to Barcelona, and on the other hand, Barsa in Wolof means to die, drowned, trying to arrive to Spain crossing the sea in dangerous illegal small boats called pateras. Besides, FC Barcelona football club seems to be the favourite team among the youth of the villages located in the region of Kolda (in the south of Senegal). However, despite the attraction the Senegalese people feel for the “North", the information they have about our country is incomplete because they just get some pieces of information from TV reports or from some stories told by the immigrants who managed to go back to Senegal.
