THE INVISIBLE CITY: VOICES IN THE CAÑADA REAL GALIANA

  It is the largest illegal settlement in Europe. Abdul's house has just been demolished like many others. It was built on an ancient cattle breeding path. La Cañada Real is home to 40.000 people from 4 different communities; Spaniards, Muslims, Spanish gypsies and Romanians live there either in shacks or more luxurious dwellings. There are also drug pushers, drug addicts, volunteers.... and 10.000 children. But there are no schools, no hospitals and there definitely aren't any cattle.

These communities have been occupying the land for 40 years but now, according to some, it's time to go...but to where?

The man and the city, both survive facing the ups and downs of life without hiding the faded glory, which has already disappeared.

BARÇA O BARSA

  The expression Barça or Barsa reflects the African dream, the dream all immigrants have. One the one hand, Barça refers to Barcelona, and on the other hand, Barsa in Wolof means to die, drowned, trying to arrive to Spain crossing the sea in dangerous illegal small boats called pateras.

THE GREAT MOSQUE

  Kairouen, capital of the Islamic World in 2009. The Great Mosque in Kairouen is consid- ered a masterpiece due to it’s geometry, outer great walls, domes, patios, pas- sages, fences and capitals. It’s built upon the golden rectangle, having into consid- eration the correspondance between all the geometrical connections.

ANGOLA: HOPE AND COURAGE

  The aim of this documentary is to make people aware of the women’s situation in Angola and their role in rural development.   Guatemala, 11 million inhabitants, half of them are indigenous and country people. 1996, the Peace Treaty arrives after 36 years of Civil War and more than 200.000 people killed. How reality supersede fic- tion is shown in this film through the main characters voices, who took part in one of the cruelest episodes of Latinamerican history.

A BANKER FOR THE POOR

 This excepcional man is Prof. Muhammad Yunus, (Nobel Peace Price) bangladeshi economist, he has created a new approach banking, a ‘silent revolution’ that has af- fected the lives of millions. By drawing his portrait, this film tells the story of the micro- credit system and the Grameen Bank, a bank for the world’s poor.

THE LOST SOULS OF BANGLADESH

 In Bangladesh, 300.000 people, political ref- ugees from the indian province of Bihar, live in makeshift camps… they’ve been there for the last 27 years. Victimes of the political situation and stripped of all linguistic, social and cultural referentes, they survive in ab- ject poverty and against widespread indiffer- ence. Yet they go on hoping for a brighter future. If the elderly dream o fan unlikely return to Pakistan, the younger generation, born in Bangladesh, want bangladeshi citizenship. They are just waiting...

WHEN YOU ARE DEAD

  Juan Rayo is in charge of the morgue in the Hospital. He, as the rest of the people working with the deceased, thinks that his job is part of a process that society prefers to keep in the dark. What happens to us between the morgue and the cementery is still considered taboo. ‘When you are dead’ glances at this mysterious and invis- ible world.
